everything you need to know before arriving in spectacular Lake Ariel

What is the Hideout?

The Hideout is a residential gated community consisting of approximately 3200 single family homes and over 250 acres of preserved land. Amenities include tennis & basketball courts, 2 Outdoor Pools, restaurants & pubs, ski slopes, snow tubing, game room, fitness center, lakes & beaches, parks, trails, boating, golf course and more. As a guest, you get access to all amenities. For more info about The Hideout, click links below. Follow the Facebook page for daily updates & news.

What Do I need To ensure the check in process goes smoothly?

Since the house is located in a gated community, information has to be collected and submitted to the Hideout 5 days before arrival. Will need names, ages, and addresses for every guest. Will also need guest relation with primary renter (spouse, sibling, friend, etc.). Link to the form found below. This is a must to enter community, no last minute guests will be allowed. To check in, you would go to the public safety office to get gate cards, then head to the house. House address and lock code will be sent to you couple days before arrival.

What essentials are provided? What is not?

Essentials like linens, towels, and soaps are all included, but i do recommend bringing your own towels. Kitchen is fully stocked with all pots and pans needed, eating utensils, plates and cups, and a Keurig coffee machine. There is also a dish washer. House has a laundry room on 1st floor for your use. Some toilet paper and & paper towels are provided, but you are responsible for getting more if you run out. House has propane grill, tank is there. If tank is out of propane, it would be your responsibility to refill if you wish to use the grill. There is no consumables in the kitchen. That means no butters, oil, spices, etc. Firewood is not provided.

Some things you should know

01.

The Hideout Reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone or have a guest removed

We are a permitted rental governed by The Hideout and Lake Township. Both are allowed to terminate guests if any disturbance or rules are broken. The Hideout is a gated community, and will refuse entry to anyone not registered in the form above. If a non-registered guest arrives at the gate, your host can not grant them access.

02.

The House is in a secluded area

Cell reception is not good (for AT&T at least.) There is good Wifi that can be used for Wifi calling. Also, no food delivery service like DoorDash or UberEats. Please prepare for that. For late night cravings, there is a WaWa gas station about 15 minutes away.

03.

The Hideout Rents to Families Only

The Hideout is a residential community consisting of approximately 3,200 single family homes nestled in the Pocono Mountains. Although rentals are permitted, they require rentals be families. Their exact rule is no more than 3 unrelated guests or households. That means no groups of friends that aren't related.

04.

be polite and patient. try to enjoy the atmosphere of the Poconos

The Poconos area is a peaceful and serene place. While there, try to enjoy the beautiful world around you, the mountains, trees, water falls, and the birds chirping. Most people that live in the Poconos are there searching for the same thing. Please don't disrupt their peace. No loud noises or parties.

05.

No Pets Allowed

As dog owner myself, its unfortunate to say that no pets are allowed on premises at all times.

06.

Check Out Instructions & Trash Placement

Please wash all dishes and clean kitchen after use. If you could strip all beds and place sheets and towels in laundry room, we would appreciate that. Make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked. There is no trash collection at The Hideout. We use community dumpsters. Dumpsters are located in the parking lot across the street from the North Beach. 4507 Lakeview Dr E, Lake Ariel, PA 18436

Your Host

Growing up in Pennsylvania, I would visit the Poconos often. Falling in love with the peace and tranquility of the mountains, I knew I had to have a house there. One house lead to more, and now I can share the mountain experience with friends and guests from all over.
